Election Scrutiny
In this election you will notice that there will be International Commonwealth Parliamentary Association observers in white tabards who will be monitoring the election. I was concerned in the last election about the due process so I put a motion down in Tynwald for this to be done and it was unanimously agreed.
The Organ Donor and Human Tissue Act
Everybody is opted in unless they opt out of organ donation. The act aligns us with the other UK countries.
Sky Lantern prohibition Act
Sky lanterns are banned from sale and release into the atmosphere. Helium balloons are banned from release. This was bill was totally supported by farmers, wildlife NGO’s and the emergency services.
The Competition Act
Updating competition law and allowing international exchange of information on offences committed on and off the Island.
Blood Monitors
I successfully lobbied the DHSC for Blood monitors to be provided on the NHS for all type one diabetic people who were suitable for one.
